Thanks! I hope you all find some good deals :)

I finally decided on what to purchase for the Lumiere Pre-Buy. I bought only 1 brush, The larger flat top. I really wanted to jump in and buy the whole set, but I couldn’t justify spending that amount of money for brushes I didn’t absolutely need. Now that they put more pics up I’m thinking of adding the retractable kabuki to my order. Even though these are the softest brushed ever, I have to admit that I might prefer natural hair to synthetic. I find that I get better application with Natural hairs. My absolute favourite brush right now is probably my cheapest purchase, it’s my badger flat-top from coastal scents. Unfortunately I don’t think that they carry it anymore. My second favourite is my shadow blending brush from Coastal Scents, also my cheasest purchase at $1.99.

I finally broke down and ordered TKB’s pop-mica sampler kit and have been making eye-shadows like crazy. The new pop colours really allow you get great colors from mixing. If you are at all interested in making your own eye-shadows and blushes, TKB offers a great kit for the beginners, The Easy Eyeshadow Kit for $19. This kit is perfect for beginners, It includes enough product for at least 8 pots of eyeshadow, instructions and some of the tools you will need. If you like the idea of making your own makeup then I would suggest to just jump right it, it’s easier to do than you may think and very rewarding.

I have been making so much makeup lately that I ran out of jars pretty quickly, I did a bit of research and found that the best price for jars, for the hobbyist can be found on ebay. The cheapest prices I have found, so far, are with “Container and Sample Jars For You“. These jars are also great if you are into sampling before buying.

I was at my little sister’s place last week, and she forced me to try a a new clay mask that she had just bought, and it works incredibly well.

She had recently had a Glycolic acid facial peel at her spa and had been raving about how nice her skin has been looking (I have to admit she does look glowing, and her usual redness and little cystic bumps were all but gone). But unfortunately the treatment was a bit pricey, so she had been scouring the drugstores for a product to prolong her good skin, and hopefully lengthen the time between her facials.

I think that she found a winner, the clay mask we used on the weekend has made a big difference to the quality of my skin. It started to clear up my little cystic bumps (nothing had been able to do that), and reduced my pores almost immediately. The mask is called”Deep Cleansing Mask” by Neostrata. It contains 10% glycolic acid and white clay. I was so impressed with this product that I went straight out and bought their “Daytime Smoothing Cream” with 8% glycolic acid, which came with a free full sized jar of their regular “Smoothing cream”, and a Tube of the Clay mask for myself. I also plan on purchasing one thier cleansers. Now, as far as I can tell this product is only available in the US through a dermatologist, in Canada it is available at the drugstore (I bought mine at Pharmaplus, they were having a 25% of sale on Neostrata products). Also, you may try asking if they are offering any gifts with purchase, after talking with the cosmetologist at my local pharmacy, she checked behind her counter and found that she was able to offer a full sized cleanser, as a gift with a purchase (it was unadvertised and not on the store shelves,).

I am pretty excited that I finally found my HG skin-care regimen .

Please remember that “your mileage may vary” so, you may want to speak with your dermatologist or cosmetologist about using glycolic acid, especially if you have sensitive skin.

#4 Taylor Made Mineral
My top 2 products is her, eye pigments & eye pigments (she makes great eye pigments!).

  • Eye Pigments: Taylor Made has possibly the most color selection you will find. From Sparkly colors to matte, and in every color imaginable. Her prices are very reasonable, and she offers generous samples. A few standout colors are, Envy- a deep green with gold highlights, Grave- a grey/gold/brown colour with sparkle, and Cheval-a matte dark brown/purple color (my favourite liner color hands-down!)

Taylor Made is on my Top Five list, because she had such an amazing array of colours. Her matte formulations make smooth and creamy eyeliner, when mixed with an eyeliner sealant. I also love the fact that many of her colors are shown with wet swatches, and applied to a model.

#5 MAD Minerals
My top 2 products are, mineral eyeshadow sealant, and multi-use colors.

  • Mineral eyeshadow sealant: I really like this product, it is a must when lining your eyes with mineral eye-shadows. This product allows you to use virtually any eyeshadow as an eyeliner. It seems to seal in your eyeliner, to prevent smudging you would otherwise get with using water alone, this one is my favouite because it does the job for less $$.
  • Multi-use colors: MAD makes some of the nicest eye-shadows, the color payoff is so good that many times I don’t need to use and eye primer. MAD also offers a wide choice in matte colours.

MAD Minerals is on my Top five list because they offer very nice products for a reasonable price, they often have great sales and their website is well organized.

So these are my favourite Mineral Makeup companies, they stand out because all of them have good prices, reasonable shipping, and good customer service. I hope you can find a favourite in one of my Top Five.
